Bettie Page Forever!
Take a look at Bettie Page. Of course, darlings, you can not HELP but adore her. And we aren't just talking about those bedroom eyes, that flawless skin, her mane of Cleopatra black hair, her adorable smile, and oh-so-womanly bod.
Now, look INTO Bettie's eyes, sweeties. Here's a woman who's deliciously sexy, sweet and funny. And she's enjoying the heck out of it in every picture…
Check out the attitude in the poses (and, since Bettie was the subject of HUNDREDS of photos in the 1950s, you'll have much to study. Is this fun research or what, mon cher!) She prances, entrances, loves the camera and loves herself. Here is asex symbol who KNOWS it. And she's feeling powerful and full of fun teasing, flirting and vamping.
How refreshing! Where is it written that to be a sex symbol a woman has to be mean spirited, nasty, crass, an airhead, a doormat for men, or ~ this is the one that REALLY gets us angry ~ tragic a la Marilyn Monroe.
Bettie had a fabulous fun life, full of ups and downs, loves and losses and made a world of friends. She's was having fun, we hear, enjoying loads of attention (and residuals) from a whole new generation of fans until she went to that great personal appearance tour in the stars on December 11, 2008 (at age 85). You can find Bettie Page trading cards, comics, books and photos. She continues to inspire artists, photographers and brazen hussies who admire her style and spirit.
We’ll always remember and love you, Bettie!
You make us smile, still.
You also make us want to put on red lipstick, garter belts and high heels and break out into a chorus of "I Enjoy Being a Girl". (Well, o.k., sometimes you inspire us to pose for pictures with little bitty riding crops, too...)
If there's ever a Brazen Hussy Hall of Fame, we'll be right there as the doors open to make sure you have top honors, darling.
