Hepburn Like You Never Saw Her Before – as a MOTH!
This is what we need right now because.... Why not?
Yep, it’s Katherine Hepburn in a metallic moth suit designed by Walter Plunkett for her second film, “Christopher Strong" (1933).
How often does one even SEE a metallic moth suit, much less with Miss Hepburn wearing it? Well, now we have!
And it’s fabulous and gloriously unexpected.
“Christopher Strong” is actually a tragedy, an over-the-top melodrama. But who cares, really,
If it’s not exactly brilliant cinema when you have Hepburn as a famous woman pilot having an affair with a stuck-up member of Parliament - with no birth control, apparently (that's a plot hint).

Dorothy Arzner directed and did a good job with the soap opera plot and the touchy theme ( but it was pre-code, after all). Arzner was one of the first women directors (and first woman to direct a sound movie) and the first female, and an openly gay one, to become a member of the Directors Guild of America.
